In a world craving authenticity, connection, and bold ideas that support people, the recent TEDx Belltown Women event in Seattle delivered a powerful wave of inspiration and transformation. Hosted to uphold unheard voices of community and women empowerment it definitely raised the vibe. This was a call to action, and one that everyone in attendance felt buzzing.
The auditorium buzzed with energy as women from diverse backgrounds shared stories of resilience, innovation, and purpose on stage and throughout the day of connection, networking, and collaborations. From entrepreneurs and educators to doctors, and professional rally racers the speakers embodied the spirit of “reinventing Realities" the 2024 theme that resonated with many in the midst of change in their own lives.
The TEDx Organizer envisioned an event that didn’t merely inspire but also left a tangible impact. By integrating a full day with a mission, she sought to highlight the importance of community-driven change, leveraging Seattle’s vibrant ecosystem of women entrepreneurs and leaders to create a movement with lasting significance. One that continues to generate excitement and inspire conversations within the media and community long after the event’s conclusion.
“The energy in the room was unmatched,” said one attendee. “It wasn’t just an event—it was a movement. You could feel the collective intention to uplift and support one another.”
Community Vibes: The Heart of the Event
Seattle has long been a fertile ground for women entrepreneurs, consistently ranking among the top cities in the United States for female-led businesses. A study by NerdWallet placed Seattle just behind San Francisco as the best place for women entrepreneurs, highlighting the city's supportive environment and resources.
For the Girls,” a powerful theme that underscores inclusion, equity, and opportunity for women everywhere highlighted the TEDxBelltown Women's event with a special called 'For the Girls' and brought together a similar message of importance. The event’s success was further amplified by major media hits, including a feature on Fox 13 Seattle, KOMO news, Seattle Magazine and multiple community blogs and mentions.
A Stage for Transformative Voices
The lineup of speakers at TEDx Women reflected a spectrum of experiences that resonated deeply with the audience. Stories of triumph over adversity mingled with calls for systemic change from AI to healthcare algorithms and women in the maritime industry. Highlights included a moving talk by a local entrepreneur who turned personal struggle into a mission-driven business and another from the founder of the only female-only desert rally race and how to learn to find yourself by getting lost. h
Many poignant moments came when from the all-female panels on leadership and women in finance that shared their passion, struggles, and inspiration in growing their businesses and leading industries. Their voices—unwavering, hopeful, and unapologetic—were a testament to the event’s purpose: to inspire not just action but also belief in the power of possibility. The community and audience interaction was a success with real education and sparks that ignited new business collaborations, networking connections, offers, learning, and overall support, knowing we are better together.
Stories That Inspire, Connections That Transform
For Liz Galloway, the event’s organizer, the mission was born from a desire to reshape the culture of workplaces and networking spaces. Having encountered environments where gossip, disrespect, and undermining behavior were upheld—often at the expense of collaboration and inclusivity—Liz envisioned something different. She sought to create a community that valued connection over competition and fostered a culture where authenticity and mutual support thrived. One where opportunity could propel people personally and professionally. And the value alignment with TEDx Talks was just that.
“I wanted to build a space where people could feel empowered and supported, not diminished or used,” Liz shared. “This event is about rewriting the narrative—about showing that collaboration, respect, and empowerment aren’t just ideals but actionable practices.”
Her focus was not just on addressing toxic environments but also on demonstrating the transformative potential of uplifting one another. TEDx Belltown Women was a table with a place for everyone. And with many key community partners and sponsors that were involved that supported this initiative and helped make this event happen. Brands like Raise Your Vibe 2025 served as a tangible manifestation of this vision in their own community and as a welcome TEDx partner. The goal is to align with your 'tribe'.
